Privacy Policy

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you how we collect and use information about you when you visit our website, happydayturismo.com.br (the “Site”), and what you can do with the information you provide.

Happy Day Turismo is an information-based travel blog that offers articles on various aspects of travel, such as cultural etiquette, food and beverages while traveling, how to navigate a new city when traveling, what to pack, and how to plan your trip and create an itinerary. The term “Happy Day Turismo” (We, Us), refers to the person or entity that determines how to use any personal data collected from the Site (the “Controller”) in accordance with the Law No. 13.709 of 2018 (General Data Protection Law, or LGPD) in Brazil. This policy is provided in light of the LGPD.

You do not need to provide any personal information to read the articles on this Site. Most of the data listed below will be automatically collected by your browser when you visit the Site, or through the ad technologies that support the Site.

1. Information we collect

When you reach out to us via email or our “Contact Us” page, we collect the information that you have provided us with. This usually includes your name, email address, and the message you sent us. We recommend that you refrain from sending us any personal information (e.g., passport or government-issued ID numbers; credit card numbers; health information) that is sensitive in nature. As a reminder, we will never ask you for any of these types of information in order to respond to a travel-related inquiry.

Information we collect automatically. When you visit the Site, certain technical data is generated by your connection and by the services that deliver the Site and its ads:

  • your IP address, and an approximate location (such as country or city) derived from it
  • browser type and version, operating system, device type, and language settings
  • the pages you view, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit
  • cookie identifiers and similar data used for advertising (see Sections 3 and 4)

2. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • run, maintain, and secure the Site, including detecting spam, abuse, and technical problems
  • reply to messages you send us
  • show advertising, which is how we fund free travel content
  • review aggregate, non-identifying figures (such as page views and ad performance) to improve our content
  • meet legal obligations and protect our rights when necessary

We don’t sell, rent, or trade the contact details you send us, and we don’t use personal data to make automated decisions about you.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are tiny pieces of information which are saved to a user’s computer via their web browser. Cookies are similar to other forms of tracking technology such as beacons (which are images or codes that show that someone visited a web page), hard drive storage (local) and unique device identifiers (UDID). On this Site they fall into two groups:

  • Technical cookies set by the Site’s own software or hosting so that pages load and work properly.
  • Advertising cookies and identifiers set by Google and its advertising partners, described in Section 4.

You can disable cookie tracking through the settings of your web browser. However, disabling cookies will not prevent you from accessing the website. If you do disable cookies, you may be unable to utilize all of the website’s features or have difficulty using some of its standard functions. However, you will still receive advertisements that may or may not be relevant to you.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

Google AdSense serves ads that are displayed on this Site. Here is how that works and what it means for your data:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this Site and to other websites.
  • Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to show you ads based on your visits to this Site and to other sites across the internet. These cookies may be associated with domains such as doubleclick.net or Google’s country-specific domains.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings . You can also opt out of many third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info .

Ads may also come from other 3rd Party Vendors and Ad Networks (e.g. non-Google) that Google has partnered with and uses Google’s Advertising Technology to serve ads. They will use their own cookies and similar technologies, as well as their own privacy policies. Google provides a List of these Vendors and where they offer an Opt-out option, typically on their Websites or through aboutads.info.

Personalized Ads are based upon your Online Activity, such as what you have viewed in the past (i.e. which Sites you have visited) and the settings you have chosen in your Google Account. Non-Personalized Ads are based mainly upon the content of the page you are currently reading, as well as your general geographic location, and do not take into account your previous browser activity.

Consent: Visitors from EEA Countries, the U.K. and Switzerland will be informed via a Consent Notice prior to seeing any Personalized Ads as required by Google’s Terms of Service. If you decline to consent to this Notice you can still see Non-Personalized or Limited Ads. If your consent is required for lawfully using Advertising Cookies, we rely on such consent and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

We do not determine the advertisements you see or the cookies that are set on your computer by advertisers; although an advertisement shows up on the Site, that is not an indication of our endorsement of that advertiser. We only receive aggregate performance information from Google about ads displayed on the Site; we do not receive any individual visitor profiles. If you’d like to know how Google processes and manages information from its customers, check this article (How Google Utilizes Information From Sites or Applications That Use Our Services). You can also access Google’s Privacy Policy for more information.

5. Who else receives information

We share information only as needed to run the Site:

  • Google and its advertising partners, as described in Section 4.
  • Our hosting and infrastructure provider, which stores the Site’s files and server logs.
  • The email service we use, which handles messages you send us.
  • Authorities or other parties, where the law requires it or to protect our rights, safety, or the Site.

Google and other providers may process data in countries other than Brazil, including the United States. Those providers are responsible for the safeguards that apply to their own processing.

6. Links to other websites

The links in our articles usually take you to third party sites, including transport operators, accommodation providers, tourism boards and gear brands. We don’t have any control over these third party sites, nor can we be held responsible for what is contained within those sites or how they manage your personal information. Please ensure you review the privacy policy on the site you go to via any of these links.

7. Your choices and rights

Advertising Preferences You may opt to modify your advertising preferences through ads settings on Google or by using the aboutads.info website. Additionally, you may opt to make modifications via your browser cookie settings and through your mobile device’s advertising settings as well as the consent message if shown.

Your LGPD Rights If you are in Brazil, or the LGPD otherwise applies to you, you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we process your personal data, and give you access to it
  • correct data that is incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date
  • anonymize, block, or delete data that is unnecessary, excessive, or processed unlawfully
  • delete data we process based on your consent
  • provide your data in a portable format, where applicable
  • tell you with whom we have shared your data
  • explain that you can refuse consent, and what happens if you do
  • withdraw consent you previously gave

Should you believe your LGPD rights have been violated, you can file a complaint with the Brazilian Data Protection Authority (the ANPD – Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados).

To file a complaint, please reach out to us using the contact information in Section 11 and we will confirm your identity to process your complaint within the timeframes established by law. Keep in mind that we do not hold much Personal Data; mainly just the messages you send us via our service(s) and the very basic log files our servers generate. Google retains all advertising information and other information on behalf of their customers; therefore, the methods discussed in section 4 will provide you with the most direct access to controlling what information Google collects and about you.

Privacy Rights of Non-Brazilian Residents If you are located outside of Brazil, it is possible you have additional rights as a result of privacy laws that exist where you reside. Please contact us and we will respond to your request based on the privacy laws of your location.

8. How long we keep information

  • Messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond and handle any follow-up, or longer where the law requires.
  • Server logs are kept by our hosting provider under its own retention practices, for security and operational purposes.
  • Advertising cookies and identifiers expire according to the settings of Google and each vendor, and you can delete them at any time in your browser.

9. Security

An encrypted (HTTPS) connection provides a secure connection to the site, and we have taken reasonable precautions in addition to those provided by our hosting company to ensure the protection of any personal information we store regarding you. Regardless of security precautions, there is no guarantee that your data is completely secure, so we cannot provide an absolute guarantee of security. In the event of a breach or incident involving your personal data, we will provide notification of such incidence to you and to any appropriate regulatory authority as required by applicable law.

10. Children

Children are not our primary audience, and as such, the Site is not specifically targeted to this age group. We do not intentionally gather any personal information from any persons under the age of 18. The Digital Children and Adolescents Statute of Brazil (Law 15.211/2025) implements a severe restriction against profiling for the purpose of advertising to children under the age of 18. If you believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please reach out to us; we will delete this information in accordance with the law.

11. Contact and changes to this policy

As we make updates to the Site, our advertising setup, and/or laws; we may also need to revise this Policy to reflect those updates. Upon making any changes to the Policy, we will include a new “last updated” date at the top of the Policy page. All significant changes made to the Policy will be highlighted on the Site.
